What is Climate Change?

Why Should I Care?

What is Sustainability?

How Can I Help?

Is Climate Change Real?

Is It Too Late To Help?

The word "sustain" means to give support, to hold up, to bear, or to keep up. Sustainability can be explained as "the processes by which something is kept at a certain level." The recently developed environmental and social issues have made sustainability increasingly difficult. Time and money efficiency are some of the main reasons for unsustainable companies.

It is, unfortunately, extremely real. Some proof? Average global temperatures have increased by 2.2 degrees Fahrenheit, or 1.2 degrees Celsius since 1880. The Arctic has warmed by over 4 degrees Fahrenheit since the 1960's alone. Recent global temperature extremes have documented record highs and lows, which we have all experienced through crazy weather, early or late seasonal changes, so on - and these are just to name a few. So yes, climate change is certainly real.

Simply because climate change impacts everyone and everything; us, future generations, animals, plants, the weather, so on. Some harm is already permanent, but some are still reversible if done correctly and quickly. If sustainable living is widely established, it would lead to healthier lifestyles, more balanced ecosystems and a more friendly relationship between humans and our surroundings! So to put simply; the more people who work together to fight this issue, the more chance we have of a better future!

There are SO many ways to help! To name a few:

Get educated on climate change and current issues surrounding the topic, research before you purchase, sign petitions, reduce waste, recycle and pick up trash, reduce meat and seafood intake, unplug/reduce on electricity usage, cut down on single-use plastics, buy local, support eco-friendly businesses and lines, drive less

Nope! You're actually here at the perfect time! Now, more than ever, people are noticing the effects of climate change. So many changes are being made every day to help combat climate change and build a more sustainable future.

The direct definition of climate change according the UN is the "long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns." These changes may be natural, but humans activities have recently greatly contributed to these changes. A significant cause of climate change is the burning of fossil fuels, as well as heat-trapping gases let out into our atmosphere (greenhouse gases). Though some degrees of climate change are natural, the amount the climate is currently changing is not.
